Diamond Jubilee - Fields in Trust
Fields in Trust is an independent charity with a Royal Charter and is not part of the government, nor is it a quango. We do however work closely with government and its agencies, in particular the Sports councils throughout the United Kingdom. We are also, for example, a member of The School Playing Fields Advisory Panel in England, which advises the Secretary of State on applications to dispose or change the use of school playing fields. We campaign positively for the protection and provision of high quality recreational space, particularly through the planning system, but most effectively through consensual arrangements such as those used for King George’ and Queen Elizabeth II Fields.
fields in trust mission is the same as it was when it was founded in 1925: to ensure that everyone – young or old, able or disabled and wherever they live – should have access to free, local outdoor space for sport, play and recreation. These spaces are vital to building happy and healthy communities.
Sadly too many continue to be threatened by all built development, hence to rejuvenation of this project and luckily Springfield Park was awarded Fields in Trust status ;0)
Springfield Park now have this award, this will help to protect the field, click on the link for more information http://fieldsintrust.org/ See below the dedicated team who enabled this to happen.
