Improvements to Blakedown Brook (The Stream) were proposed and completed in March 2013
Work was carried out by the Environment Agency in collaboration with Wyre Forest District Council to improve the structure of Blakedown Brook that runs through the park. This provided opportunity for the movement of fish, could even encourage Otters and improve the water corridor between two Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). One being Puxton Marshes, a large area of unimproved marshy grassland, with associated damp woodland, and open water. This is one of the largest areas of marshland remaining in the county. The other SSSI, is Hurcott and Podmore Pools, which is an important complex, containing the largest wet valley of Alder Carr in the county, if you click on the link below you can see a map.
